56's & 60's@Mossend
well, one 56 and some 60's

This was one of the last photographs that I took at Mossend, and the only one I have of a 56 at this locoation, although they are very common now.  At this time, in 1994, the 56's had established themselves around Millerhill and Fife, but they were still fairly rare in the west side of Scotland.
60005: This was vanguard of the class in Scotland, being used as the crew training locomotive.  It is seen here performing that function.
The fact that construction decals adorn 60018 "Moel Siabod" does not preclude it's use on a Ravenscraig bound MGR.
The low winter sun and snow on the ground make a pleasant view of 60020 "Great Whernside" running light to Motherwell Depot.
The first batch of 60's to be allocated to Motherwell also included 60022 "Ingleborough", seen here at the head of the British Alcan company train
