The scrap line and other views

Thanks to its convenient position on the route from the South to MC Metals' springburn disposal point, Mossend became a regular staging post for withdrawn locomotives.  The former 45066 (D114) renumbered as 97413 and bearing the unofficial name "Amethyst" is seen in the yard.
Coupled to 45066 was 45048 also adorned with an unofficial name
Most of the former class 508 Manchester - Bury EMU's were disposed of at MC Metals, four such units are stabled in no.3 down reception line awaiting a tow to Springburn.  Note the similarity of the Greater Manchester PTE livery to that of the Strathclyde livery.

This is the only Network Southeast Locomotive I photographed at Mossend.  86401 "Northampton Town" being dragged by a class 37 on one of the many diverted services due to the Newton blockade.
